There’s a lot of questions and concerns about why Google’s keyword tool could say that the local results are higher than the global results. Well, that’s what we’re going to get to the bottom of and explain. We’re going to disspell any confusion you may have over this.

If you look below, this is the result we got for “texas search engine marketing” based on a broad match:

Looking at the broad results, there’s 1,900 searches, but if you look at the actual “phrase”, there’s only 590 queries for the local marketing, which is English and in the United States:

Now, why in the world would the local results be higher than the global search volume when there are more people in the world than the U.S.? Good question.

The answer to this question is simple: The local search result is based on the most recent month!

When you look at the global search volume, you’re not seeing whether some months got 1,000 visitors while some months had barely 10. And unless you track the local search volume every month, you don’t know whether “texas search engine marketing” only got 60 searches in February, 100 in March, and 80 in April.

Some months, people just tend to search for something a little more than usual. That’s why it is possible for local search results to be higher than the global average over 12-month period.

By-the-way, out of 7.7 million results, we’re ranked #6 for this keyword phrase .

It’s hard to say how much it matters, but we know it plays a SIGNIFICANT role in search engine optimization. We have been competing with companies who have been around since 1995, 1998 and early 2000. rankaboveothers.com was registered in 2004, but it was not active until March/April. To Google, we really didn’t actually exist until March/April of this year. We’re barely over 2 months old competing against 10+ year old sites.

That is a major disadvantage because even though we have more indexed pages and more inbound links, we’re most likely not going to rank as well as our competitors (at least not yet). It will take us a good 6 months before we are recognized as credible and an authoritative website. We’ll pick up speed and rank very well by then, but we’re still not in the clear.

It may take another 4-6 months before we truly prove ourselves to Google and other search engines. Until then, we must maintain a steady and consistent marketing approach. We must add a steady number of backlinks, submit a consistent number of article marketing, gradually add on more videos and social media bookmarks and constantly adding more content. Any sudden movements or changes and we’ll be in some major pain.

Even though we’re ranking #6 for “dallas seo” we know that we can get to the #1 spot on the next Google update simply because of the validated backlinks, increased number of indexed pages, increased number of content and possibly the increase of our PR. These are the things you should be doing for your business. Get them before they know what’s happening.

You’ll notice that we talk about our experience and how we are approaching search engine optimization. That’s because we lead by example. We are in fact telling you what you should be doing with your website in order to rank better in the SERPs. We talk the talk and walk the walk. We’re not going to tell you to do something we don’t do ourselves.

Now, back to the significance of a domain’s age. We know that it plays a major role because we’ve been researching and analyzing our competition. They’re really not very good, but they don’t know that yet. By the time they find out, it will be too late and we’ll gather up about 40%+ of all Texas’ search engine optimization and Internet marketing related search terms. It will take them months and years to catch up with us by then.

Point is, if you want to do the same thing to your competition, you’d better have your domain now and get started on adding content to it, then slowly build your way up. If you wait, it will just be harder later on down the road. Also, just registering a domain and sitting on it does not compare to getting real content on the site and getting it indexed.

Do we consider ourselves as “Internet marketing search engine specialists?” Absolutely! We are ranking very well for keywords that other SEO and marketing companies have been trying to achieve and maintain for years. Some of our competing companies have been in business for as long as 12 and 15 years and yet we are catching up or even passing them on certain keyword phrases.

Now, these aren’t just a bunch of simple keywords, these are keywords that receive hundreds and thousands of searches every month. Now, you’ll probably see companies that say they rank #1 for this and that but no one really searches for them.

For example, if we were going to cheat and lie to you, we’d tell you that we’re ranking #1 for these keywords:

marketing firm texas

texas marketing firm

texas seo firm

gibberish in seo

dallas offline marketing

dallas seo marketing

Sounds impressive though, right? I mean, these keywords LOOKS as if people would be searching for them, but according to Google, less than 10 people search for any of these keywords every month. Can you believe that? We could use these as a selling point and claiming that we’re ranking #1 (of course we are), but there’s no one searching for these keywords. At least not enough to be profitable and strut about.

Kevin Lam has nearly a decade of Internet marketing experience and is now applying his knowledge and expertise in the search engine marketing field. Kevin and his team at rankaboveothers.com has been active for ONLY about 2 months and here are some of the keywords we are ranking for on page 1:

texas seo | #1 & 2 | 1,900 searches a month | 1,020,000 competing pages

dallas texas marketing | #2 | 2,400 searches a month | 50,200,000 competing pages

dallas seo | #8 | 4,400 searches a month | 712,000 competing pages

seo dallas | #8 | 6,600 searches a month | 2,060,000 competing pages

texas search engine marketing | #7 | 1,900 searches a month | 22,900,000 competing pages

texas search engine optimization | #6 | 480 searches a month | 1,340,000 competing pages

dallas seo firm | #2 | 210 searches a month | 638,000 competing pages

Other more difficult keywords we are close to being on page one:

dallas marketing | #15 | 40,500 searches a month | 27,600,000 competing pages

texas marketing | #12 | 27,100 searches a month | 49,700,000 competing pages

dallas marketing firm | #15 | 1, 600 searches a month | 27,900,000 competing pages

dallas search engine optimization | #18 | 1,600 searches a month | 668,000 competing pages

dallas search engine marketing | #15, 16 | 2,900 searches a month | 7,260,000 competing pages

dallas marketing firms | #15 | 880 searches a month | 14,100,000 competing pages

This is a potential of over 60,000 searches a month.

These are not easy keywords to go after, but after just 2 months, this is where Texas SEO stands. We are ranking very well for our own market, which most people would think is very competitive and saturated with veteran seo companies who have been doing it well over a decade.

So when people ask whether or not we are an Internet marketing search engine specialist (or expert), we would have to proudly say, “yes”.

We’ll probably be on page 1 for all of these keywors within the next 60 days. In that time, we will be ranking for far greater and more difficult keywords that could bring in an additional 50,000 to 100,000 searches a month.
